Making Space for Doubt: Finding God in the Questions by Roz Humphreys, standing on a stack of hardcovers on a sunlit side table beside a candle, mug, journal and reading glasses

There is room for your questions

Some books are meant to be discussed. This one might need to be.

Making Space for Doubt was written for the questions we sometimes carry quietly.

  • Questions about God.
  • Questions about what happened.
  • Questions about what didn’t happen.
  • Questions we may have been afraid to admit we even had.

A Making Space for Doubt Book Circle gives you a place to talk about them.

Learn How Book Circles Work

There is room for your questions here because there is room for them with Jesus.

Making Space for Doubt isn't about learning to live without answers. It's about bringing what you don't understand honestly to the One who is trustworthy, even when the answers don't come quickly. God is not threatened by your honesty.

Questioning God and walking with God are not necessarily opposites. Honest questions can be carried in His presence rather than hidden from Him.

This isn't a book club.

Two women sitting across from each other at an outdoor table in warm evening light, talking over a meal

A small, guided conversation inspired by Making Space for Doubt. We won't try to fix your questions or force agreement. We'll listen honestly, return to Scripture, and trust the Holy Spirit to lead us toward truth.

A Making Space for Doubt Book Circle is a small, facilitated gathering where women read the book together and talk honestly about what it brings up for them.

The facilitator isn't there to teach the book. She's there to hold the conversation.

Because some questions sound different when you finally say them out loud.

You can absolutely read Making Space for Doubt by yourself. But there is freedom in sitting with women who love Jesus and don't feel the need to pretend they have every answer.

Someone may say something you've thought but never admitted. Someone else's story may help you see your own differently.

Faith isn't always having the answers. Sometimes faith is trusting God enough to ask the questions.

Making room for doubt isn't about encouraging unbelief. It's recognizing that an honest question can become an invitation to know God more deeply rather than something we have to hide from Him.

06

Faith Has a Place Here

This is a faith-rooted space where questions are not treated as rebellion and uncertainty does not disqualify you.

Who This Is For

Maybe you've never called it doubt.

Perhaps you've called it confusion or disappointment. Or chose silence because of a season you still don't understand.

Or maybe you've simply discovered that some of the answers that once satisfied you don't anymore.

Maybe you're the one who knows that you love Jesus and still have questions you haven't known what to do with.

Maybe you've gotten good at acting like you have no questions, when what you really need is room to be honest.

  • What happens when the God you trustdoesn't do what you thought He would?
  • How do you keep trusting when God feels quiet or distant?
  • Can you question God and still be walking faithfully with Him?

A Note From Roz

I wrote this book because I've been where you are, asking the hard questions and wondering if faith could hold them. It can. You don't have to have it all figured out to take the next faithful step.

The Book

The conversation begins with the book.

Making Space for Doubt explores what happens when faith and questions occupy the same space.

Rather than treating doubt as something to hide, fear, or immediately eliminate, the book invites readers to bring their questions into their relationship with God.

The Book Circle takes that conversation off the page and gives women a safe place to explore what the book brings up in them.
